CLiPS encourages undergraduate students at its institutions to participate in Center research. This allows students to determine if polymer research is something that interests them, and some of these interested students could later become CLiPS graduate students. Research internships are available during the academic year as well as over the summer. While the primary summer internship program is hosted at Case, other CLiPS Institutions host summer interns through programs at each institution. Academic year research is typically organized through departments or undergraduate research offices on each campus.
Undergraduate researchers play an important role in the CLiPS Layered Research Team, being mentored by a graduate students and mentor to a high school student. Undergraduates can start as early as their freshman year or college, and often author publications before they graduate!
If you are an undergraduate student and would like to read more about the research in CLiPS, please visit our Research section. For more information about the CLiPS research opportunities at Case, contact Dr. David Schiraldi. For information on research opportunities at other CLiPS Institutions, please contact the primary contact person for the institution of interest.
